Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs
The MCAAP Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) Committee is comprised of a group of pediatricians, family advocates, medical students, residents and representatives from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
The Committee was formed to address the needs of Massachusetts CYSHCN and their families in accessing quality care and access to a medical home. When relevant, the Committee will link its efforts with state initiatives and lend input to Chapter leadership on legislative efforts that affect CYSHCN.
The Committee prioritized a set of 11 focused goals. Of these goals, the Committee identified four areas that will focus on:
- Telehealth
- Homecare/long-term nursing
- Transitional Care
- Behavioral health
