American Academy of Pediatrics Shares Pediatrician Stories on Importance of Childhood Vaccinations with Key Senate Committees
January 27, 2025 – The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is preparing strategies to advocate for children and pediatricians with new leadership in Washington, D.C.
In advance of Senate confirmation hearings for officials who will lead agencies overseeing critical child health issues, including immunizations, the Academy solicited accounts from members who have treated children with vaccine-preventable illnesses. The stories will be shared with senators and other officials who will make decisions on Cabinet appointments, including the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. MAIC, MCAAP, and Families Fighting Flu Remind HCPs to “Protect Patients” During NIVW
The Massachusetts Adult Immunization Coalition (MAIC), the Massachusetts Chapter, American Academy of Pediatric (MCAAP), and Families Fighting Flu (FFF), are reminding health care providers to protect patients during National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW) and through the 2024-2025 flu season. National Influenza Vaccination Week is December 2-6, 2024
National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW) is an annual, national awareness week focused on highlighting the importance of influenza vaccination. NIVW will be held from December 2-6 this year. NIVW serves as a reminder that it’s not too late to recommend influenza vaccination for everyone 6 months and older for whom influenza vaccination is appropriate.
